Wild Irish cherry wood Celtic love knot necklace


This delicately carved Celtic love knot necklace features a piece of wild Irish Cherry wood, recycled from musical instruments constructed by a local luthier.
To the ancient Celts, Cherry was considered a sacred tree renowned for its many curative properties. Used for intuition, focus and stability it can help us in the realisation of our goals and dreams.

Celtic knots date back to the 3rd to 4th century B.C. They were used to symbolise faith, declare love & unity between people, and even to protect against evil spirits. They were also seen to represent infinity and eternal life.

– Irish cherry wood, sanded to a smooth finish
– Non-toxic oil finish to seal the wood & enhance its natural colour

Juliette Poliautre has been living in Galway, on the west coast of Ireland for several years. She did an apprenticeship with a local luthier where she specialised in the decoration and adornment of stringed instruments. Juliette then went on to making Celtic-themed jewellery, incorporating these same woods and delicate techniques into her designs. They quickly proved very popular with both friends and neighbours and now her jewellery pieces are known worldwide.
