IRISH CRAFT BEERS
BOYNE BREWHOUSE CRAFT BEER
PALE ALE - 4.8%
Pale ales are known for their aroma hop as much as their bittering hop. This is a beer with a subtle malt base that allows the hops do all the talking. The predominant hop used is Australian Summer, which gives a distinctive pink grapefruit aroma.
AMBER ALE - 4.8%
Toffee aroma on the nose is followed by a balanced, light caramel mouth-feel. We have used a contemporary variety of German hops to introduce a rich orange peel character to the back of the palate, that compliments the malt flavours perfectly.
LAGER - 4.8%
A German style of beer which is also known as the ‘Labourers Pilsner’. This is a perfectly balanced beer in which neither malt nor hops dominate. It’s a deep blonde colour, good hop bitterness and aroma, full mouth feel and crisp finish.
IPA - 6.8%
Slightly hazy deep golden colour with abundant fruity citrus aroma with a hint of pine. On the palate there is bitter citrus and resin. A big bodied beer that can stand up to the hops with a long dry finish.
SAISON - 5.5%
A classic traditional ‘Farmhouse Beer’ with a very pale colour. A spicy aroma with pepper and citrus. A light and effervescent mouth-feel that dominates on the palate with a dry citrus finish.
OATMEAL STOUT - 6.2%
Inky black colour with an intense roast aroma. A rich roasted coffee on the palate with a touch of raisin and dried fruits. The oatmeal addition gives a full and creamy mouth-feel with a long finish.
SPIDDAL RIVER CRAFT BEER
IRISH AMBER ALE - 4.2%
A malty full bodied and balanced beer which is not overly hoppy so that the malt characters are evident, allowing for easy drinking. Amber in colour, it is darker and maltier than an IPA but not as dark as an Irish Red/Smithwicks.
IRISH GOLDEN ALE - 4.9%
If you drink lager and want something with a little more character and flavour give Mild Atlantic a try. It’s light, refreshing and is a particularly great accompaniment to seafood dishes.
